Simply Fit Bootcamp
Welcome to Simply Fit Bootcamp! My name is Jennifer Brooks and fitness has become my passion.
I will have to admit that fitness hasn’t always been my priority in life. In high school I would say that I was a healthy girl, not really overweight but could afford to shed some pounds. But as I entered college I could really start to feel the effects of my daily Mountain Dews and Snicker Bars! I tried one fitness club simply for the group fitness and found it to be very inspiring. I then joined another club after my membership was expired and was connected with a personal trainer. After the intense and somewhat embarrassing body composition testing, I realized that I had some major goals to set. Fitness then became addicting. Never in my life did I think that I would say “no thank you” to birthday cake or actually read the nutritional labels on foods. But I did. I had goals to meet! It is the best feeling in the world when you reach each milestone!
So my story continues a few years later. I had become a regular in the club, running 5 miles per day with regular strength training and started to shake things up with a Cardio Kickboxing class. The coaching, the energy, the mental relief, the motivation, and the workout…..what more could you ask for! I quickly realized that those highpoints is what I wanted to do for myself but most importantly for others! So I quickly looked into how I can start teaching group fitness.
Eight years later…..I have been teaching regularly at Urban Active Fitness in Lexington, KY in the evenings and also work full time for a small company in Lexington. I have been surrounded by some of the best group fitness instructors around which push me to be a little better each day. I strive to make each class motivating to all fitness levels because we are all working together.
So what brings me to bootcamp? We each gain satisfaction in our own ways. It is most rewarding to me when a class member thanks me for a great class or reaches for a “high five”. So I introduce Simply Fit Bootcamp. My vision with Simply Fit Bootcamp is to help coach and motivate individuals who would like to remain in group fitness setting, individuals that want to work hard, set goals, and achieve results. Bootcamp defined is a training camp and that is exactly what we will be doing. A group setting, group effort, personal training and coaching, sweat, intense workout, and lots of FUN!
